Selected Work
Brand identity builds and supports customer expectations and forms a powerful, meaningful, and lasting relationship with the customer. Brand identity is the strongest marketing tool a company can have.
A startup web design company needed a name and a logomark that projected its brand promise of convenient, polished, affordable custom web design for startups and small businesses.
I created Netella, which encompasses "Net" and "tell" as what the site ultimately do is tell the client's story on the 'net — with a playful, engaging sense of humor and tagline.. The tagline is a fun play on the edible connotation of "Nutella" and the meaning of taste that has to do with style. (Conceptualize, design, produce.)

A leading local catering company was in need of an update to an date identity system after 15 years in business.
I turned an infelexible illustration-based 4-color logo into a fresh and flexible system, and a platte of 4 colors, that could easily and creatively be leveraged across signage, web properties, email marketing, business cards, tradeshow support materials, notecards, stationery, menus, and other materials.

Example of logo in service, a print advertisement and in situ on menu:

A leader in the OEM video surveillance software field wanted to go to market with a packaged DVR solution and needed to create a brandnthat differentiated from the big incumbents, telling a story of authenticity, next-gen modernity, and reliability.
I created an identity sytem that was memorable, flexible, and would resonate with both tech-savvy BDMs and more hands-on surveillance managers. The identity carried the brand across web, print, tradeshow, and other properties.

Examples, istallation DVD, Website, blog, and marketing "dictionary":

A new locavore neighborhood restaurant needed a clean and flexible logo mark to use across signage, web properties, email marketing, business cards, menus, promotional and other materials such as cocktail napkins and coasters.
I created an elegant logo system that included a text-only treatment, a reversible lozenge version, and a PMS grey that brought feeling and tone to the mark.
Examples: outdoor signage, Web page, and a pomotional card:

Identity design & production, small business (B2C). This was an exploration of a new name for an acquired business in Berkeley, CA. The client decided to keep the existing name but to give it a fresh, modern look, which I designed based on clean, youthful, elegant typography:
